Transifyr Docs

Everything you need to set up real-time speech translation, desktop overlays, OCR translation, AI assistance, and license recovery.

01

Quick Start

Install Transifyr, choose your audio source, select languages, then start a live translation session.

1Install the app

Download the desktop build for Windows or macOS and open Transifyr.

2Choose audio source

Use Microphone for your voice, System Audio for meetings/videos, or Both for conversations.

3Select languages

Pick the spoken language and the translation language. Use auto-detect when unsure.

4Start translating

Press Start and keep the overlay visible while you work, watch, or listen.

02

Audio Setup

Audio source controls what Transifyr listens to. Most meeting and video workflows should use System Audio.

Microphone

Translate your own speech or practice speaking in another language.

System Audio

Translate Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, YouTube, movies, courses, and browser calls.

Both

Use when you need a two-sided conversation transcript.

03

Get API Keys from Providers

Transifyr can work with multiple speech, translation, and AI providers. Create keys from the provider dashboard, paste them into Settings → API Keys, then save.

Soniox

Create a Soniox account, open the developer console, generate an API key, then use it for real-time speech recognition.

Open Soniox →
DeepL

Sign in to DeepL API, choose Free or Pro, copy the authentication key, then use it as a translation engine.

Open DeepL API →
OpenAI

Create an OpenAI platform account, add billing if required, create a project key, then paste it into Transifyr.

Open OpenAI keys →
Google Gemini

Open Google AI Studio, create an API key, then use it for AI explanation, summaries, or assisted workflows.

Open AI Studio →
Ollama / Local

Install Ollama, pull a supported model, keep the local server running, then configure the local endpoint in Transifyr.

Open Ollama →
Security note

Never share your API keys publicly. If a key is leaked, revoke it in the provider dashboard and create a new one.

04

Real-time Translation

The main workflow captures speech, transcribes it, translates it, and shows the result in a clean desktop interface.

  • Use the floating overlay for meetings, videos, and online classes.
  • Enable session history to review transcripts after the session.
  • Adjust font size and overlay position for long viewing sessions.
  • Keep translation context simple for better real-time readability.
05

Quick Tools

Quick Translate

Translate copied or typed text instantly from anywhere on your computer.

Screenshot OCR

Capture a screen region, extract text locally, then translate images, PDFs, games, and app screens.

Overlay Mode

Keep translated subtitles on top of videos, calls, and desktop apps.

06

AI Features

Use AI to understand context faster after translation.

  • Summarize: turn long conversations into concise notes.
  • Explain: clarify difficult phrases, technical terms, or cultural context.
  • Interview Mode: prepare context, detect questions, and get answer direction suggestions.
07

Troubleshooting

No audio is detected

Check that the correct audio source is selected, the meeting/video is playing, and system permissions allow audio capture.

Translation is delayed

Use shorter context, check your network/API provider, and close heavy background apps.

I lost my license key

Use the license recovery page with the email used during purchase.
